Solar Tracking Using Micro Controllers

Micro controller chips are becoming increasingly more potent. On the one end of the scale you have the simplest pic, propellor and arduino chips, on the other hand you find linux running Cortex M3 chips and others that can even do sophisticated signal processing, all under 10 USD.

What makes Microcontrollers attractive is their flexibility and ability to drive multiple motors (either directly or though darlingtons or an H-bridge chip). They often have analog to digital converters that can be directly used to sense light intensity, temperature, and mirror angle (like in a servo mechanism).
