Solar Trackers and Heliostats

We design custom made solar traking systems for any type of motor or application. If you have questions you may send them to info@sunreign.com.

Ways to determine position

There are different approaches to orient towards the sun automaticaly. This also depends on the thype of mount for the mirrors chosen. The most common is using a differential between two fotocells. This does not require knowing the actual position. Another is to use stepper motors and a table of the suns position. This can also work with servo motors. Stepper motors and servos can be used to reflect sunlight, but they are a bit more expensive. A cheaper alternative to stepper motors and servo's may be an ordinary motor combined with a Gray Codeing Wheel. Lastly there are clock gears that can in theory operate both axis (no example known).
