Above design was part of a million+ research effort, the cost of construction however can be significantly reduced. The mirror tiles where fixed to a layer that was in turn supported by the piers. On the support structure the custom made laminated mirrors where placed. The markings in the drawing are for the measuring equipment. The above test bowl showed one can make precise predictions of its yield.

Below a drawing from the Crosbyton project. The Solar Bowl can be relized in many ways, and we are working to reduce cost for each one. The masic two designs now considered are a tiled concrete/adobe bowl or a proprietary (possibly patentable) even easier and cheaper method.
