Governmental Autonomy
There is not much need to reinvent the wheel. Governing communities has now happend for thousands of years and the succes and failure of different systems can be easily assesed. There is a difference today in terms of telecommunication and internet.Important things the government should drive
1. Good education
2. Good order and rule of law
Important things the government should prevent.
1. Formation of cartels and monopolies withing the economy
2. Material dependencies between communities
3. The formation of groups that feel superior or inferior to others
4. The use of methods of payment that are promisory
5. Formation of organizations or enterprises that are active in an areay larger than the territory
Like in biblical times, it may be that laws need not be amended for the persistence of good order, as the paramters that influence it are constant. A lot of the problems in our present society result from people attempting to deal with the aggregates (large numbers). The solution is to keep groups, organizations etc. small. There should be no need for large groups to form as there should be no cause to rally behind that can not be solved before it leads to large groups of unhappy people.
Law Changes
Starting from the current legal environment there should be rules about patented technology. Companies and lawyers that do business need to sign a document saying they will not seek any patents on their activities, nor try to enforce existing patents. This is to disable any abuse of the legal system to derail local activities. If some party files a case from outside the community it can be opposed by the community.Preventing wars
The patchwork of agoracentric communities will need to stay a patchwork to prevent wars. They will be competitive because people can of course move around freely and see differences. If the strenghts are bundled the people of combined communities will develop a sense of superiority (justified or not) which eventualy leads to wars. Therefore there needs to be some authority to prevent combination of communities, and the laws should be similar in that respect in all communities. Even if conflict arises it will be local.
Information
The internet can be a usefull tool to ensure the same level of wealth and sense of unity as we see today. A seperate internet may be set up without advertisements and with one search engine from the start that is coowned by all users.
Agoracentrism fosters respect for the local level of development so that initiatives are need based and the needs are as honest as possible. There may be rules to say what needs to be taken care of first before other communities will share or help to achieve what comes next.
